New School Hall/Gymnasium/Theatre in Bairnsdale funded by the Federal Government BER program. Internally precast concrete panels and steel form a single structure without redundancy and constitute a moderating thermal mass fully isolated from the external environment. This is sheathed in self-spanning high performance insulated steel panels and multi chambered polycarbonate cladding. Primary ventilation is un-passive and provided for by a 100% fresh air/energy recovery system. A simple landscape gesture combined with a tile patterned wall forms an external amphitheatre for theatre and performance.
